The iron helped so much that, eventually, manufacturers began making their equipment from cast iron as well. Textile mills benefited from this in particular because they were filled with combustible fibers and flammable dust. The iron construction helped prevent fires. The use of grey cast iron proved more successful in the construction of buildings like textile mills. They made the switch to steel in the early 1800s, as steel has much higher tensile strength and hardness. In the 1770s, James Watt developed an atmospheric steam engine, updated from an earlier one by Thomas Newcomen, Watt’s steam engine made gray iron casting easier and the parts produced more accurate and higher strength.īefore steel, people used grey iron castings as structural components of bridges. This use of iron casting for armor was popular through the mid-1700s. Using the same method, other manufacturers made cast iron shields and some body armor parts. Grey Iron Castings – OSCO Industries, Inc.Ī few centuries later, in 1707, a British man named Abraham Darby discovered a way to cast iron pots with thinner walls. Artisans used the cast process to make heavy cannons for the British Royal Navy, per the instruction of Henry VIII. Despite this, Western Europeans didn’t begin iron casting until the 15th century AD. It is likely that the Chinese shared their cast iron process along the Silk Road. Malleable cast iron was much easier to manipulate. Also, between the 9th and 4th centuries BC, people developed malleable iron casting. At that time, iron was cast into the form of weapons, simple pots, ploughshares and shot. The earliest cast iron products were made in China, circa the 5th century BC. The first type of iron to ever be cast, grey iron, has had a long and illustrious history in our world. Grey iron castings are frequently used to make: valves, cases, engine blocks, dies, pump housings, pipes, brake drums, decorative embellishments and grey cast iron cookware. Also, their graphite/graphite flake content is useful in energy dissipation of parts like engine blocks and crankshafts, which depend on the dampening of mechanical vibrations. As non-flammable building components, they provide superior fire protection to wooden support structures. The applications of gray iron castings are many. Grey iron castings lend durability, hardness and strength to any operation for which they are used. ![]() Industries that use gray iron castings include: agriculture, architecture, automotive, construction, electronics, irrigation, machinery construction, transportation, and ventilation. 1/3/2024 0 Comments Demo disk archiveMegademos/SP-Megademodisk2-metallion-5-88.dms ALL-megademos-87-95/89/KEFRENS-MegademoVII.DMS Megademos/TSP-Megademo1-metallion-3-88.adf ALL-megademos-87-95/90/Kefrens-MegademoVIII-B.adf Megademos/Megaforce-Megademo2-10-88.dms ALL-megademos-87-95/90/Kefrens-MegademoVIII-A.adf ALL-megademos-87-95/91/AURORA-IntruderMegademo.dms ALL-megademos-87-95/88/Megaforce-Megademo.adf I suppose what I meant to say is that - and I know everyone will have their own take on this - among the 683,514 Amiga demo-related files you own, only about 471 are worth your time. Who among you can remember a time when a Yahoo (or Aminet) search for treasures like "DOC Megademo", "Vortex 42", "SAE Amazing Tunes", "Spreadpoint", "Rink-a-Dink", "Budbrain" or (er.) "Triangle - The Big A" would yield no results? We eventually put that right (apart from the last one.) But we never imagined that, in just a few short years, virtually everything ever made for the Amiga would eventually be unearthed and made so easy to access. We were acting as curators, with an eye on the classic. Little was available then but, quite quickly, our collection grew. Back in 1997 when I started the sometimes-remembered Lazarus website, at the dawn of Amiga emulation, we were hoping to somehow source and gather together the few hundred items we believed would ease the pain for the average faithful Amigan, now reluctantly forced to jump ship. It's all too easy to forget, thanks to the efforts of projects like TOSEC over the years, just how much we take for granted the hundreds of thousands of Amiga-related artefacts we've so readily obtained, only to store them somewhere on our external hard-drives, having to wade through duplicates and unfamiliar names just to get to the important bits each time we fancy a fix of nostalgia. What an authentic and respectful collection of Amiga essentials :-) It's nice to see a properly curated selection that brings back genuine memories! 1/3/2024 0 Comments Mount flumeLiberty was the perfect way to get back into the game and continue the (very slow) quest to hike the 48. When considering NeoLoad, keep productivity in mind as this feature (and many others in NeoLoad) saves the company time and staff hours whereas previously this kind of work was required repetitively. Having the ability to select multiple previously generated frameworks saves not only time but also system space and worker overhead. NeoLoad has been developed to include many time-saving/productivity-increasing features. With this new framework selected, correlation is automatically done when you execute new recordings or update existing ones no further work necessary. Here we can see ours made it onto the list along with our single sample variable. That means when you scan your project, if any other variables from those frameworks match, they will be picked up and correlated based on the new and existing frameworks in NeoLoad. Note that all other frameworks NeoLoad provides are also selected by default. Next, use the Import function to select the framework you exported from the other project and bring it into another. We’ve covered how to create/export into frameworks, so how do we bring one into another project or even a newly recorded user path? To add your custom framework (and any others) merely select Edit -> Preferences -> General Settings -> Frameworks section. This will guide you to complete bringing it into the framework. Adding to the framework from here then takes you through the converting Variable Extractor into the framework wizard we covered earlier in this article. This means the value was legitimately found and handled within the project and the options to Replace in all requests and Add to framework becomes available. NeoLoad will automatically find the response that contains the value you are looking for, builds the regular expression that will be needed to search the response, and then displays the data that it finds. When choosing the Use an extracted value option and Automatic configuration, NeoLoad does all the heavy lifting for you. By selecting the data, you want to correlate and then double-clicking, an Edit Request Parameter window opens: NeoLoad makes it even easier to build a framework with an automated feature. Note: You can also search the entire project for dynamic parameters by right-clicking on the root user path node and clicking Search for Dynamic Parameters or selecting the node and clicking a button of the same name presented in your right-hand options. Here we can see that it found the framework parameter we created and it is selected (depicted by a checkbox to its left) so clicking Finish will add the new framework to the preferences of NeoLoad and also correlate the matched data - thus concluding the first way to export a correlated value into a framework. What this means is NeoLoad will check against all other frameworks presently selected (we will cover this later), adding our newly created variable to the framework. This process will search for dynamic parameters using framework rules established in NeoLoad. For our purposes, we will click Next > which starts the process of scanning the entire user path for all identifiable included framework variables along with the one we’ve just created. You could skip this step (see “skip this test” or click Finish). (Generally, these can maintain the parameter values that are auto-selected by the wizard, as NeoLoad understands the type of replacements your given correlation will need.)Ĭlick Next > and you will get to the Dynamic Parameters. Here we have replacement options including XPath expression. To create a new framework, click Next >, bringing you to the Injection settings dialogue. Once clicked, a new window opens up to the Search for Dynamic Parameters page asking for a variable name and to either select an existing framework or create a new one. The first place to note for getting variables into a framework is directly under the Advanced Parameters window within the Variable Extractors tab once a variable is created, click Move as framework parameter. Once exported into a framework, those dynamic parameters migrate easily from one project to another. ![]() ![]() It’s a valuable tool for alleviating the need to re-create the same values repeatedly. Dynamic variables can be stored within a framework, thus saving them for use with other projects or user paths within the same project. Although this article does not cover the correlation of dynamic values, we will cover how to get those values into a framework for later use. In Tricentis NeoLoad there are times where you may need to handle dynamic values. |
